We arrived nicely on time at Hotel Mecklenburger Hof and upon arrival we were kindly received, frozen water pipes and the repair of this we could not spend the weekend here and we had to move to another hotel in the village. This was all well arranged and went without problems. After a delicious supper we met Fred and discussed with him how we were going to organize the weekend. Also got acquainted with a couple of fellow photographers from Belgium who already had some nice photo days on it. The next day we were picked up at 6 in the morning by Fred and his dog Benny who brought us to the hut (erdversteck) on arrival first but the stove ignited, on the spot but chosen not to put a new bait as there was still a big fish on the ice. It was a bit sad weather and very gray, it seemed like there was a layer of fog over the valley. After about one and a half hour, 1 of the sea eagles, who were flying up the tree, decided to head towards the hut, Shit! I murmured in myself, he would not have been able to wait until the light was better, well, we had to be happy if he also sat down in front of the hut. and he did! what a great moment to say! we have waited a while before we made the first recordings. We had shutter speeds from 1/25 to 1/50 th so it was not easy to make some good shots. The whole party lasted less than 20 minutes but we were already very pleased that the White tailed eagle showed itself so beautiful. The rest of the day can also make many shots of buzzards and colorful crows.
The next day we were picked up early by Fred again and this time we had new bait in the form of a hit wild boar, we hoped that this day the Raven also showed themselves. For a long time it remained very quiet for the hut with occasional magpies and colorful crows. Suddenly there was suddenly action from a buzzard who appeared in front of the hut. The sea eagles we saw only occasionally sitting in the tree. The light was much better this day and the sun came through too. After enjoying several buzzards, we decided to leave the cabin a little earlier this day because we had to drive back that evening. It was a wonderful weekend and we were happy to go home.
